If you follow us on our social media – you do, don’t you? – you probably already know everything. If not, here is a summary of what has happened so far in this busy 2023.
The Drinks Business
The year had a very positive start with the winning of three medals at The Prosecco Masters competition, related to the famous magazine The Drinks Business.
This is a challenge among the best Prosecco wines specifically, which are tasted and judged by experts from all over the world.
Our debut to this competition was more than positive, with bronze being awarded to Ripe Frondose Prosecco Millesimato Extra Dry and Flumen Prosecco Brut, and silver to Ripe in Rosa Prosecco Rosé Extra Brut.
Decanter World Wine Awards
Once again, Our Prosecco took the lead in the Decanter World Wine Wards, one of the most famous and demanding wine competitions.
Ripe Frondose again won a bronze medal, and the same accolade was given to Flumen Prosecco Extra Dry.
James Suckling
James Suckling is an internationally renowned American wine critic and his reviews are highly considered and influential. He reviewed some of our wines awarding high marks.
Let’s discover them:
- Lēvigo Pinot Grigio: 88 points. Light and bright with sliced pear and lemony fruit character. Crisp and minerally on the palate with a clean finish.
- Focaia Sauvignon: 90 points. Here’s a nice young sauvignon with ripe fruit character that resembles papaya, together with fresh notes of nettle and fennel leaves. Medium-bodied, balanced and clean. Nicely done.
- Reposum Raboso Passito: 90 points. A very honest, highly traditional rendition. Delicious. A broad brushstroke of mahogany, leather polish, walnut husk and balsamic is toned by alpine spruce and amaro herbs. While obviously sweet across the bolshy finish, the impression is one of intrigue and savoriness, with a jolt of welcome volatility curtailing anything cloying.
- Brumanera Malanotte Piave DOCG: 90 points. Raboso in flight. Full-weighted, with a slick of cherry liqueur macerated in alpine herbs. A thread of peppery freshness ties the attack to a long, bolshy finish as the nose reverberates nicely across the mid-palate. Good drinking.
- Insula Manzoni Bianco: 91 points. Good drinking, mid-weighted wine of intrigue and kaleidoscopic flavors beyond the simple orchard fruit allusions that define so much of the region. Pine needle, mint, white asparagus, cantaloupe and candied lemon zest. Plump and nicely expansive, the skein of freshness balancing the cavalcade.
