2021 is the rosé year in the wine industry.

First and foremost the new Prosecco rosé is born and it seems to be very successful: during the first six months of this year, 37 million bottles were produced and commercialized both in Italy and abroad. Due to this surprisingly positive trend, many new competitions and shows dedicated to rosé wines were born as well.

In this framework, the first edition of the national competition Rosa Rosati Rosé took place; its main goal is to test the best Italian rosé wines and mention them in the brand new Guida al Bere Rosa guide.

Producers from all over Italy took part in the competition to earn their spot in the 2022 guide, which will be printed in the next months. Several different categories were allowed to the challenge: both still and sparking wines; both metodo classico and metodo Martinotti-Charmat; every vintage.

Also Tenuta San Giorgio parecipated to Rosa Rosati Rosé and was prized the Quattro Rose medal for the Proseco Rosé millesimato extra brut and the sweet Bizzarro Manzoni moscato. More precisely, Prosecco rosé gained 90 points and the Manzoni moscato 87.

While we celebrate this new victory, time to harvest has come, and we commit ourselves to make 2021 a great vintage.
